40gb ps3s are being phased out in Japan to make way for the upcoming 80gb bundles. This was expected.

It's just like what happened with the 40gb to 80gb transition here in NA.

ya at a 3000 per week lead they should catch the ps3 in 5 years. like wise the Ps3 will have a hard time even with lbp in the americas of catching up this gen. give it 5 years.

good xbox 360 number , i predict TLR will bring bump xbox 360 sales even higher than when TOV released.

maybe it is just because japanese customers no longer regard 'ixoboxo' as gaijin? Its now more than 6 years the first Xbox appeared in japanese stores. The Japanese did not buy it because they mostly buy nationalistic. But now a new generation of gamers that is accustomed to the Xbox is there. It just could be that MS' persistency from now on pays off. If so anything can happen in the future.

In reality, it's the PS3 doing so bad that makes the 360 look good. HD platforms are doing terribly in Japan.
