I think the OP wants epic music, regardless of genre. So go for it!

Here are a few of my favourites that spring to mind:
Faith No More - Ashes to Ashes

The Darkness - Love is Only a Feeling

The Smashing Pumpkins - Thru the Eyes of Ruby

Ocean Machine - Seventh Wave

How about the song that can make anything feel EPIC:

Requiem for a Dream

some of the videos out there are hilarious.

You got it dude.  Great songs! I forgot about Faith No More...how could i?!  Thanks.

Yes, any genre, doesn't matter which.  I'm a lover of all kinds of music.  BTW Rachmaninoff is truely great.  I love classical music.  Does anyone have any more symphonic references?  Love to hear it...

Aram Khachaturian - Spartacus, Adagio of Spartacus and Phrygia (Suite II No. 1)
Bedřich Smetana - Ma Vlast, Moldau
Antonín Dvořák - Symphony No. 9 " From the New World", 4th movement
Gustav Holst - The Planets, Jupiter: Bringer of Jollity

Elmer Bernstein - The Magnificent Seven

Jerome Moross - The Big Country

Alex North - Spartacus, Love Theme

...and so on, I could go on forever, especially with Soundtracks.

Some songs:

Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Cortez the Killer

The Flying Burrito Brothers - Wild Horses (Gram Parsons' better version of Jagger&Richards' song)

Genesis - Carpet Crawlers (while Peter was still around)

U2 - One Tree Hill
