Can't read...... to long.....
I'll say this, SONY's won to Gen's back to back, SEGA's Never won one...
Sony's a Multi-Billion dollar organization that focuses on more markets than just
Video games. Unlike Sega or Atari.

Do me a favor and read the article, please..
Pixel Art can be fun.
Rather than say "Lolz Sony is Sega? HAHAHAHA" etc, why not an intelligable comment?
Ok here is one.
Is Sony going to the way of Sega? Who knows in the end. But there is certainly no concrete evidence that they are on that path now. They STILL sell PS2s, the PS3 is gaining ground on the 360, The PSP has a good user base. Sony still gets 3rd party exclusives etc etc etc.
Remember, Sega never had a majority Market share, Sony WAS the market for one generation. Wait and see before you make a decision either way, but right now I say they are just fine.

Summary for those who do not want to read it:
Wii is not competing with the 360/PS3, so just ignore them. While we are at it, let's ignore the PC as well. Only exclusives matter. MS has Halo3 and is stealing all of Sony's exclusives (including MSG4!). I own a 360 and it rocks. My brother owns a PS3, and i feel sorry for him. Then end.
So many lazy ass people. Rol I would have made them read it all instead of sumerizing it. He is just stating past events that happened to Sega and you can see that same trend happening to Sony. I dont think Sony will make it to a next gen console, but thats my opinion and yes I have a PS3, the only thing I do now is play demos on it every once in a while.

| RolStoppable said: A quick summary, most of the paragraphs are just useless text that sometimes hardly make any sense, but here goes: Nintendo always had and probably always will have the family friendly image, Sega became successful because they marketed their console (Genesis) as being cooler as Nintendo's. This brought them success among young males, mostly teenagers. Sony copied Sega's strategy and took it a step further, since gamers had aged they were also able to reach young adult males. Nintendo kept its family friendly image and a large enough market while Sega wasn't cool anymore and saw its sales shrinking drastically. Then came Microsoft and copied Sony's strategy (which was previously Sega's) and now the box is the cool system. While the first Xbox failed somewhat in that regards because it came out too late after the PS2, the PlayStation 3 isn't as cool anymore as Sony's consoles used to be, especially because most of its games can also be found on the 360. So the author of the article asks what Sony's fate may be. They aren't cool anymore and they for sure don't have the same image as Nintendo. Of course his observation largely applies to the American market. |
Summary of the summary:
Sega became uncool so it was doomed. Sony has become uncool, it's doomed too.
I highly doubt the PS3 will be the last of Sony's consoles. I'm just saying that the niche that Sony once had is starting to be filled by Microsoft. The 360 slowly but surely being the "hip and fashionable" console and if something doesn't happen soon, it's very likely Sony WILL BE IN LAST. I'm not trying to troll, but I don't see an outstanding reason for the PS3 to gain more marketshare than the 360.
Pixel Art can be fun.
I can not, for the life of me, figure out how this sentence makes any sense:
"Now we’re entering into the current generation. Nintendo dominates the market ever so slightly less every day while Microsoft’s prestige grows and grows as more developers are getting curious."
What? Aren't more developers getting curious and interested in the Wii as time goes on? Isn't the Wii gaining more marketshare every month?
