Forums - Nintendo - The official NTDOY/Nintendo discussion thread

You should check with the brokerage for the requirements to trade on the pink sheets (OTC).  Some require that you have a margin account.  Etrade has international accounts that permit you to buy the parent stock on the TSE, but you need to have $50K to invest in Nintendo that way.  The NTDOY shares are not sponsored by Nintendo and you are not recognized by Nintendo as a shareholder.   If you plan to day trade or play the bumps, you should avoid Fidelity.

The urge to play is a terrible thing to waste.

...but if I plan to simply buy and hold for a year or two Fidelity is fine then?

I have been using http://www.tdameritrade.com/ for a long time and have always been happy with them.

Just pulled up fidelity real quick looks as ameritrade is cheaper per trade but not 100 percent sure.

AmeriTrade hmm? I'll check them out, I'm also looking at Scottrade, I'll probably just flip a coin in the end ^_^

I guess I was wrong. Nintendo held pretty strong in Japan only losing 1000 yen. Perhaps the last pullback purged a lot of the traders.

There is a video game segment on Fast Money tonight if anyone's interested.

I do not recommend investing in stock for short term. If you are not planning to hold a stock for 5 years, you should not invest. If there are no surprises, I should hold my Nintendo stock for 5 years.

I will sell Nintendo in 5 years or when they lose their dominance in the video game industry, or when they reach 500 per share...whichever come first.

NTDOY these days... looks like just following yen/US$.

the Wii is an epidemic.

Actually, I was surprised we didn't chase the yen in last night's trading. Sony got blasted though.

I just noticed the annual report is now available. While the information is old, covers fiscal 2007, it has a lot of interesting information and explains everything.
