What's up with all these newbies coming to VG Chartz making wishful thinking predictions?

I'll stick with my prediction of 21 million at the end of 08.
However long term it is extremely difficult to predict. At this point the ps3 can do anywhere from 50-120 million LTD.

End of 2010 = 38 million

Gears 2 will be Huge

It will take some amazing announcements to move the 14 million consoles next year as predicted by the thread author.

The Ps2 had GTA 3 to drive its take up by the masses. However it had little competition at the time.

The PS3 is battling the cheap but fun Wii and the Hardcore HD 360 this gen.
I just see the market as more fractured than ever before and a repeat of last gens dominance is highly unlikely.

Seems to be resembling the Megadrive/Genesis SuperNintendo war of the early nineties.

SuperNintendo won but not by miles.
