Nintendo have 4 of the top 5 selling games of 2007 so far in America

Looking down the list of top sellers of 2007 in North America it becomes apparent just how much Nintendo are dominating. The best seller is Pokemon Diamond / Pearl with nearly 2.9 million copies sold, second and third are Wii Sports and Wii Play, fourth is God of War II on PS2, but amazingly the fifth best seller is 18 month old Nintendogs!!

I wonder what the picture is like in Japan...

EDIT: I hope you like purple! http://vgchartz.com/japyearly.php

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

The top 10 at the end of the year will make for interesting reading for a Nintendo fan as Galaxy and SSBB are dead certs meaning a minimum of 4/10 are Wii games. I think MS will 1(guess what) & Sony 0. GTAIV will be up there as well as multi. The other 4 DS?

No digg, it kills the site.

Looks like GoW2 is dropping out of the American top 5 in about a month, and it'll be only Nintendo games at the top. I can see Halo 3 and GTA IV climbing there with them, possibly to the top spot if both PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTA IV are counted together, but that's about it.

The Japanese list confuses me. There are still no DS games to hit a million, although the previous year there were seven. Is it having slower sales than last year, or do they really tend to spike during the last few months?

MS will likely have 2. GTA & Halo. Lair & Heavenly Sword might make good sellers for the PS3 but I don't think they'll break the top 10 for the year. Could possibly break in with GTA but I think that'll sell best on 360.

To cash in my CC rewards points for $300 in Circuit City gift cards to purchase a 360 or not: That is the question.

Both I would say.

There are also 5 DS games that have sold more than 750k so far in the year (4 of which were released last year).

Its impressive that MH2 is almost #1 - although it won't be by the end of the year (be in the 6..10 range).

DQ9 will be #1 - Wii Sports likely to be #2, unless Mario/Smash can take over. If Galaxy is half as good as it sounds, it could sell 2.5-3m units this year - in Japan alone.

Zelda:PH will also continue to sell, and may get close to 1m by the end of the year.

Digg doesn't kill the site, ioi said he has upgraded the servers and it is a good way to build up the userbase of vgchartz.

It still doesn't make sense to digg minor stories. Only major releases should be put on digg.

Too bad 1 of those 4 games isn't actually sold. :)

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
