I hate how you can't edit titles. This is the second one I messed up this week.

At the least, mods should be able to clean up titles...

Is a bad title a bannable offense? Because I would be like the tenth one in 24 hours.

On topic @Leroybrown: I don't think they will be spiteful, reluctant maybe.  I really think this gen will end up being pretty split up between Wii and one of the other two.  It would be a first but since they are so different, I think it might happen.  Which would hold devs back from making Wii games.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Looks like a no win generation for everyone then, oh well, maybe I myself am just spoiled by dated concepts of console supremecy.

I think more Win-Win- big loss. Even if sales for Wii stopped today they would be safe. They have made enough money to fund what ever venture they want.

MS or Sony game divisions would have some 'splaining to do, if they don't turn a profit.

Developers will proably hate having to adjust to the wiimote but at the same time I think they'll enjoy the lower overheads a Wii project entails. I'd say the average dev probably finds the Wii a bitter-sweet experience but once they've trained up their people on Wii development and figured out how to cater to the Wii crowd I think the sweet will all but completely replace the bitter.

Grow up and stop trolling.

DQS seems like an interesting game WiiGirl76 judging from the videos. You've propably played it right? What did you not like? BTW I hope 76 in WiiGirl76 ain't your age...

Chrono Trigger really should make a return in some form. Arguably (extremely arguably, I'm betting), it was the best RPG we've yet seen in this gaming industry.

Final Fantasy 7-12 (ESPECIALLY 7) will never see a Nintendo release. Sony keeps the rights to those games and their spinoffs under lock and key.

That said... Nintendo is getting the sequel to Final Fantasy 12... Though that may just be because the Ivalice production teams have always been a bit more Nintendo-friendly than the other teams. After the Ivalice Alliance games, Sony will have seen three games (Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions) and Nintendo will have seen four (Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, Final Fantasy Tactics A2)

Developers go where the money is. The money is on the console with the highest number of owners. They might release a big game for another console later in a generation if it is backed financially by the hardware manufacturer (See: Nintendo's relationship in 2004-2005 with Sega, Namco, and Capcom for the GCN).

True, but that doesn't mean they have to like it, many have already voiced frustration in having to develop for Nintendo and have openly stated they don't like the concept of the Wii. I wonder if most will try to keep thier big name titles on console like the PS3 and 360 just to spite Nintendo while only giving the Big N just enough to keep themselves apart of the money making scene.

Developers can't afford to spite Nintendo just to spite them.  15 Mill to develop a game on the 360 and PS3 is big money and if the sales don't cover the cost they won't be able to keep throwing money they don't have.  I seriously doubt a business model like that would ever succeed. Another thing you have to remeber is:

In the business world you hold grudges and only act on them if you can make money.

So you are actually excited about ports? Unless they seriously update stuff, I wouldn't welcome ports of games...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Lol, they can hate the Wii as much as they want, but they'll still HAVE TO develop for it.

What I don't understand is why devs hate the machine so much. They are always complaining that its under powered and that gamers want bigger and better visuals. But the market has shown that big budget games aren't as popular anymore. And everyone is sick of playing the same types of games in the same genres and with the same gameplay. It seems to me that devs are frustrated with their own lack of creativity and hate it when Nintendo is putting out a challenge for new and unique gamplay styles.

I would normally dissagree, but honestly, when it comes to the Final Fantasy series, yeah... yeah, you're right on the mark there. And again maybe if they remade or ported something other than Final Fantasies 1-6 once in a while. Sheesh.
