Forums - Microsoft Discussion - sick of MS dancing around problems

I remember back when I had my original xbox about 4 years ago it would start smoking in the back where the power cable connected, shortly afterwards a story of how an xbox caught fire hit the media and MS started shipping out those new Power cables with the little buttons on them that did absolutly nothing to fix the problem since it wasnt the cable, and btw my xbox still smoked even with that new cable... anyway now we've got the 360 and every new model/chip in the 360 promises to be more reliable and all that crap but the issue is not the chip but the design that causes the 360 to overheat itself to death, i'm really frustrated about this.... and for anyone saying " oh the rrod % has gone down" thats not the case at all based on my personal accounts and 2 of my friends who both got the rrod off of new xbox's they recieved last christmas.. it's an epidemic.

Ever bother reading reports and aggreggate data about RRoD issues after each major revision?

Or do you prefer to post incredibly vague anecdotal information and prefer to claim it as fact?

Fact is that the number and cases of RRoD reports both at VGC and other forums (most notably NeoGAF) is down considerably from the heyday that was 2006 and 2007. Feel free to browse VGC - You'll notice that we have yet to have 1 RRoD issue that was due to a Falcon or Jasper X360 (and I have yet to have a VGC-er prove me wrong on this one).

The burden proof is on you. Otherwise, your just trolling the MS forums attempting to get a warning/ban.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

@stick, trolling would be saying the 360 is a POS, thats not what I said, I said I'm tired of MS not fixing its problems, and btw those jasper chips were just released and most buyers probably dont even know if they have it or not so only time will tell, right now I know though that MS gave me and everyone else a faulty product and the data backs it up, at one point over %30 having RROD, and all they do is send you a refurb when you send yours in, thats not fixing the problem at all, which is what the thread is about, they wanna fix it they need to redesign it , not just throw a different chip in there.

I'm not really surprised that you kept using the XBox after it was smoking in the back...

Also,

thejuicingamer.
good luck.

@twestern ?????? and btw I put a weight on the back where the power cable connected and it would keep it from smoking and turning off on me .

What exactly constitutes a re-design?

A new chip IS a re-design on a smaller level. Going from 90nm to 65nm requires re-designing mobo components as new items are placed, and changed on the system.

Furthermore, the smaller chips fixed the vast majority of issues. Or did you not know that?

Psh, noob.  Don't you know anything?  He has DEFINITIVE evidence the RRoD problem hasn't been fixed, his friends told him so!

a redesign is the rumored 540 that would include a blu ray player etc... and the new chips had no effect seeing as its no the chips that cause the heating, thats like saying an oil change fixed my flat tire, the problem lies with the compact design of it....
