Forums - PC Discussion - Looking to buy a new PC

I'm gonna replace my old PC with a new one.

My spending limit is about $700.

I'm going to use this shop. I'm gonna order each part individually.

My target is to make it at list twice as powerful as my current computer. It has an AMD Athlon 64 processor 3200+, 2.01 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM, hard-drive 250 GB. The video card is a WinFast A7600 GT TDH, with 256 MB DDR3.

Any suggestions?

look for the CHUMP box posts on this site. There is a PC that fits that price.

When you say replace - does that mean everything? Like Case/PSU/graphics card/HDD etc or are you simply looking to upgrade? So is it a totally new PC or an upgrade?

Tease.

Yes, everything. The old PC will stay intact I have other uses for it.

Edit:

I've decided on a few components.

case: CASECOM KJ-5570F

HDD: SEAGATE BARRACUDA 7200.11 SEAGATE 500 GB

Motherboard: INTEL DG33FB FROSTBURG

Processor: INTEL CORE2 DUO E7200

Why not go with say a slightly smaller 400gb Seagate for say $80 U.S and spend more of your budget on other things?

Or I could get a 500GB one(about $100) and buy another down the road. I was thinking of getting this video card. Is it any good?

Are you much of a gamer/Do you want to overclock? This board looks excellent for both. Its very feature rich with Sata II, PCI-E version 2 crossfire. It can take faster memory and it will allow you to overclock your CPU to over 3ghz if you want.

I don't know how to overclock, so no.

source - RASURBO SILENT POWER DLP-535

motherboard - INTEL DG33FB FROSTBURG

processor - INTEL CORE2 DUO E7200

video card - XFX PV-T84J-ZALG

HDD - SEAGATE 500 GB

DVD Burner LG

Internal card reader

9600GS - 389 LEI

or

9600GT 469 LEI

http://www.dc-shop.ro/detalii_produs.php?cod=16100

Are far more powerful. The 8600gt is basicly the same card as the 7600gt you already have.

Thanks for all your help. I chose the XFX PV-T96G-YHF4 GEFORCE 9600GT. Is there anything left?
