Well, think about it. Casino Royale made approximately 576 million dollars at Box Office.

Now, it's very unlikely any games could break that unless they sold 10 million copies at $60 a game.

And even if that one game sells a ridiculous amount of copies and changes gaming....

Casino Royale is just one movie. You'll see countless movies making hundreds of millions left and right. Videogames just can't compete.

Yet the games industry generates more revenue than the movie industry...

Well said shams, most movies are way more expensive than most games.

Perhaps we need to have more developers screwing around with programmers...we need to see developers in comprimising positions...there's not enough scandal in the video game world to garner mainstream press the way the film industry does...not even epic vs. silicon knights is worthy of front page tabloid trash (although i think it rates up there)

No it doesn't. Consoles, games and accessories combined generates more revenue than Box Office alone.

DVD sales, DVD player sales and theater concession sales is all revenue generated by the movie industry which isn't counted in those comparisons.

Similarly, CD players, iPods, and concert box office isn't counted in the comparisons with the music industry.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
