I think a 5 year old would really enjoy the Rayman Raving Rabbids games. And maybe even games simpler games like Wii Play or Link's Crossbow Training

Get some used Gamecube games too. My kid likes Finding Nemo, Mario Sunshine, and Wind Waker (I gotta play it and do the voices, though).

Grab Wario Ware and Wario Shake It too.
