"According to Japanese magazine Famitsu, Square Enix’s Shinji Hashimoto has stated that gamers will not be seeing a playable Final Fantasy XIII or Versus XIII demo until 2008.

However not all the news was as saddening. Apparently Square Enix is prepared to show off new videos of both Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII in the coming months and that probably means the Tokyo Game Show in September."

Yeah. I read that, but I did not feel it was news worthy. It seemed pretty obvious to me, especially with the rumor of late 2008, early 2009 release date... in Japan!!!!

well this could be a good little tidbit just because it probably means there is no way it makes it to the US in 2008. Still questionable whether it will make it to Japan by then.
However, as people have said it's better they take their time.
