Sony has also announced that on the 23rd of October a PS3 and LittleBigPlanet bundle will go on sale. No word on a price point currently, but we’ll keep you updated when the info becomes available. We're not sure if this is an Australian specific bundle, but regardless, it's a brilliant marketing move by Sony because it will appeal to the masses seeking both a PS3 and the awesome LittleBigPlanet. We expect this bundle to sell extremely well.

UPDATE:

• We can now tell you the following information as well. Single-player will be 10-12 hours on normal difficulty.
• Insomniac will definitely not be releasing any episodes as DLC like they did with Ratchet & Clank.
• The co-op and single-player are different campaigns, but tell the same story from a different perspective (like Cyrsis and Crysis Warhead).
• The updated MyResistance.net was modelled on Bungie.net.

Still waiting for either Heavy Rain or Versus or an EPIC price cut for me to pick one up for myself though.

On a serious note, what would be the price point in Australia that would make you consider purchasing the ps3??

I think $499 Australian would be a decent price.

When it gets to that I will probably buy a second ps3. I am waiting for the 360 to come down to $300 for the Pro console. Not only is that a good price for that SKU but by the time that the pro goes down to 300 the 360 should be significantly more reliable and possibly come in a slim design.

The Xbox 360 is already fairly reliable in all new iterations.

I had been thinking around $500AU would be fair, if a game was included.  Relative to overseas pricing that would make more sense.  Although the amount we were (and to a lesser extent still are) paying relative to our exchange rate (which only recently relaxed) for PS3's was horrible.

I won't buy a PS3 for Uncharted (which is pretty good) or GoW3 (which will be awesome) because I can play those relatively cheap games at friend's places.  Though Heavy Rain will be short it looks too good not to own, and Versus will be pretty long.  Once I buy a PS3 for those games I would pick up the first ones I mentioned.

Doesn't it sucked though to always go to your friends and play his when you can get one of your own? I would kinda feel used if my friend always come over just to play my PS3..... thats just my opinion.

And crap, they coming out with another LBP bundle??!!? I hope its not in the USA, cause I had to buy a dualshock 3 controller, white PS3 , and the game itself... it would have been cheaper to get the bundle if I knew they were coming out with a sneak attack.

Lol.  I would never use a friend for their PS3.  I play the PS3's of existing friends that have purchased them.  Of course, most co-op and social gaming is done on my Xbox 360 and Wii rather than their PS3.

Hence one of my reasons for not having one yet.
