I think $499 Australian would be a decent price.

When it gets to that I will probably buy a second ps3. I am waiting for the 360 to come down to $300 for the Pro console. Not only is that a good price for that SKU but by the time that the pro goes down to 300 the 360 should be significantly more reliable and possibly come in a slim design.

The Xbox 360 is already fairly reliable in all new iterations.

I had been thinking around $500AU would be fair, if a game was included.  Relative to overseas pricing that would make more sense.  Although the amount we were (and to a lesser extent still are) paying relative to our exchange rate (which only recently relaxed) for PS3's was horrible.

I won't buy a PS3 for Uncharted (which is pretty good) or GoW3 (which will be awesome) because I can play those relatively cheap games at friend's places.  Though Heavy Rain will be short it looks too good not to own, and Versus will be pretty long.  Once I buy a PS3 for those games I would pick up the first ones I mentioned.
