Disaster day of Crisis is released 24th October and I pre-ordered it since the first moment you could but a lot has happened in my gaming tastes since then and last weekend I was enthralled to Mass Effect and found it the best game I have ever played purely down to it's depth.

I have never played any RPG games and turn based doesn't appeal to me but I find myself wanting to play deper games with more customisation and choices to make - last night I watched a 1 hour special game program about Fable 2 and looking it up it's released same day as Disaster.

I now cannot decide wether to go for Fable2 rather than disaster, the main apeal for Disaster being a wii game is the wife and I can enjoy it together but Fable has that whole 2 player mode where the second person can jump in and out any time and there's one button for sword, one for gun and one for spells so she could pick it up and have a go.

Anyone play the original Fable and know what to expect from the second?

The original Fable is fantastic. Fable two will be fantasticer. While I hope Disaster turns out well, it's not hard to see that Fable 2 will be a more grand, epic, polished and in depth game.

Fable 2. It looks accessible enough but the hardcore gamer could draw FAR more depth and immersion from it than from disaster.

yeah - i'm totally in the mood for another epic and disaster is a gamble that could probably wait.

if you're really wanting something with a lot of immersion, then fable 2 should be quite the experience. The first fable was fun, but didn't live up to the hype, largely due to the developer dramatically over estimating what the original xbox was capable of, but it would appear that this next installment accomplishes the original vision of the developer. I am really anxious to get my hands on it.

Ehm try Lost Odyssee, Vesperia or Oblivion. I know the first 2 are more traditional RPG's, but definitely worth trying.

Personlly I found Fable 1 to be a letdown and from what I've heard 2 won't be without its flaws.

Don't know about Disaster, I'll probably buy it and maybe review it for the site.

I'm in a similar situation man but i gotta choose two out of three between disaster, deadspace and fable 2. If i were you i'd download the original fable off xbox live and see what you think to it before you make a decision, fable was a very marmite game (i adored the original, re-brought an x360 for fable 2).
