Just finished downloadinrg the new update for PSP, and I think the to of us could become good friends again. It was about time Sony got the Store on PSP, and now that it is there the PSP is a whole new machine IMO. It really feels amazing being able to download games legally right to the system ang start playing. The new QWERTY keyboard is a major update also IMO. At first I was a bit worried that they had BS'ed me until I remembered you have to hit select to change input styles, so to anyone else getting pissed give that a shot. I will take their word that it shuts off after a set time for right now. It is a very nice feature, I often stop music at work and just let it sit there, and then I have a dead battery at the last hour of the day.

So now with this firware out, I am left wondering two things.

1)Why not include PSN as a whole?
2)Why did they not have an option for a UMDless PSP-3000?

I hope 1 will be sorted out soon, and 2 will be available next year. For right now I am starting to relove my PSP. Hopfully devs will be more willing to support it through the store than they have on UMD. This update has reminded me just how much potential is still left in the PSP, and I can't wait to see what it still has to offer.

the big question is: will it work on the Obese PSP?

 thank you for answering.  but I might as well get the new PSP-3K since my sister is hogging the old one.  Crisis Core would look great on my HDTV.

I personally love the new Store. But, I would have loved Trophies and a Friends list!

I think they're working towards that goal.
