Forums - Microsoft - I have an honest question for anyone who has got RROD

"Keep going back to microsoft" ... for goodness sakes you're making out like its some wife going back to her abusive husband.

If you get RROD, you call up M$, pop it in the post then get it back in a few weeks.

I never had an RROD. If I did I would let MS honor their extended warranty and keep playing the 360. Next gen is just like this gen... It is all about the games and I can really give a crap about the bells and whistles. Whichever console has the most games I like gets my dollar. This gen it was MS. Last Gen it was Sony. Next Gen who knows... but MS seems to be trying harder so odds favor MS again.

I got it once. As a kid I would've freaked, but as an adult I have patience. It actually came back too fast because I was playing multiple Wii games. When the 360 came home I never touched some of them again.

unfortunately I can't be of help but speak to my soldiers they will guide you.

Very interesting. Not a single person stays with 360 cause of hatred of sony and/or nintendo. Sounds like most stay with it cause of library.

Wonder what would happen to the xbox gaming community family if the next xbox has a big hardware problem like the rrod...

My PSN Name is:  EvilChronos    add me if u want :)

END OF GENERATION PREDICTIONS  "9-21-08"

1. 1

2. Nope

3. I don't know.. why would I buy a console just because of the brand?

It won't.  I don't have any hard facts, but I would give you 100 to 1 odds that heads rolled over at MS for it, and they will do much more extensive testing next time around tp ensure that htey don't have to eat another billion dollars in losses

I made a thread awhile back asking this same question. I have no idea how people are able to tolerate it. For me, unreliable hardware completely negates the attractiveness of strong software.

The PS1 and PS2 were known for having a high error rate, i remember having to place my PS1 on odd angles or upside down or place objects on top it so it could read disc's.  My first PS2 also had the disc Read error.

I thought the same thing but maybe he didn't have a PS1 or PS2. I had to keep my PS1 on the side for it to play. If anyone remembers correctly that was one of the reasons PS2 was made to stand vertical as well as horizontal. I went through 3 PS2's and after the third one I decided to stick with my Xbox and Gamecube. I mean if you have been gaming as long as I have you would be accustomed to game consoles crapping out. I remember people going through multiple Dreamcasts because the motor would die and stop spinning the disk. I had that problem with one of my PS2's also.To answer the questions though:

1. I've gotten the TRL once. The replacement was broken by a family member about 2 years later.

2. I bought an Elite and I still haven't sent the old 360 back yet. (Not sure what I'm waiting for...)

3. Of course I will because I like to have all the consoles unless they are utter trash.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Hey Chronos, looks like you got your wish about keeping this thread flame-free. I suppose I'll answer you.

1: No Ring of Death for me

2: I'd stick with it, as it can just be repaired for free. That I like.

3: I hope to get their next system when it comes out. I also hope to get a PS3 and Wii sometime soon as well.
