@ mrstickball, Halo 3 and Gears are very different games, whereas CoD 4 and GeoW will have decreased the amount of hardware that it is going to move

Of course. It's the law of diminishing returns - The same reason FFXII moved less hardware in Japan than FFVIII, VII, or IX did.

But having said that, it's still going to move a ton of hardware, since it's going to be a game that will draw in new X360 owners since it's exclusive - Unlike CoD4.

Well I just think that any FPS fan is going to have been moved the 360 by either Gears, CoD 2, Halo 3 or any of the others like Bioshock, the Orange Box. I know many of those arent exclusives but when the console is notorious for FPSs and its controller is best for FPSs, no FPS man (apart from PC fanboys) are not going to get an Xbox, which is why I think that Fable II will provide a larger boost

The same old thing again:

PS3 fanboys- ZOMG GeOW is gonna be a flop. It's GeOW 1.5 and no hardware will be moved at all.

360 fanboys- ZOMG GeOW will pawn anything in its way.

End of '08 predictions (made by theprof00): PS3: 20m, 360: 23.5m, wii: 42m

Now Playin':  PS3|Resistance 2, LBP, Uncharted and Fifa 09, PSP| Ratchet and Clank: Size matters, 360| Gears of war 2 and Fallout 3.

Gears 2 is going to eat just about everything alive this fall, and I've got a PS3 so call me a fanboy if you will I don't care. Of course it's going to help move a ton of hardware as well. 770k last Nov NPD at much higher price point yea it's going to be a big month NPD wise.

Not necessarily disagreeing with you, but if anticipated games, in established genres wont drive hardware, what will?

I pre ordered 3 copies, for me and my friends... Will be fun!!

lol.

After the Too Human 1 million pre-orders fiasco, I'll take this with a grain of salt.

The game will sell awesome, no doubt, but I find it hard to believe anything about a 360 game having crazy high pre-orders.

Price cuts and more unique games. I still think that GeoW 2 looks pretty similar to GeoW for most people, though I do appriechiate that they are adding a lot

HAHAHAHA

Like Halo 3 pre-orders amirite. heh, we know how that went and guess where those pre-order numbers came from Microsoft. Yea, funny how that works when you have a solid data source with numbers they receive straight from retail.

Unlike some two-bit source off Xbox.com forums.

Nice preorder numbers but it was expected, I still have to preorder my own copy.

This sequel looks to be more than living up to its hype.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY
