The PSP 3000 has been out in some countries for this week data.

As for 360 vs PS3 the 360 has had its 3 weeks of glory ...but that had to end.

If only Sony dropped the PS3 price it could do a real killing with the 360 everywhere ...I know it would cost them a lot of money but they could recoup most of it through software sales ....come on Sony dont keep playing cut the PS3 price ...

And metacritic isnt without flaws ...as I remarked in other thread

1)Virtually identical games have a better (AAA) review on the 360 and not on the PS3 because the PS3 version came some months later.

2)The Live Arcade games make for a huge amount of the difference in AAA games for both systems.Games that arent say as the best PSN offerings as Warhawk ,GT5 P ,Siren or Wipeout HD but really old games with a hand of paint over PS1 and DC games in Live.Best example Castlevania SOTN ...it appears as AAA on the 360 in Metacritic and doesnt appear at all for the PS3 when you can buy it in the PSN.

3) Anomalies....now many old sports games as NBA Live ,Tiger Woods,NHL ,NBA 2K,NHL 2K ,Madden 06 versions make the lion share of the difference between PS3 and 360 in metacritic.This shoudl be remedied.More ,others as GRAW1 and GH2 appear as AAA in the 360 when the superior sequels as GH3 and GRAW2 are out for both machines .Those anomalies are stupid once you think about it ....yet when you cite metacritic you are citing those as well.

And because it was still worse like Orange Box. Also acheivements, ingame music and in game chat make the 360 version always better so thats why it receives a higher %. EA games have always been better on the 360 althought the gap is shrinking so another reason why NHL 09 is better on 360. SONY fanboys give it a rest. Most multiplats are better on 360 and this hasn't changed although the gap is shrinking in quality.

Get outsold ps3. Dont you people get that the playstation has always been more popular in europe/japan? The 360 destroys ps3 in US. IMO the 360 was doomed the day it came out because of the rrod, yes its been fixed mostly but it just tarnished the 360 forever, and put alot of people off of it. Next xbox to destroy.

Yes, it's been constanly high with no new games. Now with LBP looming it has obviously increased a lot. You will see in the next few weeks. I'm sure it'll do close to 100K weeks in Europe now.

The thing is the only thing we have to go off to decide which has more AAA games is metacritic and that backs NNN2004 100%. So in effect Bokal yours is opinion and NNN2004 has backing of the majority of opinions which would then equal fact.

Actually your logic is flawed. How else do you guage AAA titles? Metacritics which is an average of opinions is the only fair way to do it. Otherwise there is no pint EVER discussing AAA titles.

 

well its metacritic logic thats flawed.

1 game can get 91 based of 40 reviews, then another game can get 87 based of 60 reviews.

ghost recon 2 is a much much better game than ghost recon 1, but according to metacritic ghost recon 1 is the AAA game?

the best reviews come from the gamers, and at the end of this year ps3 would have had the better games in 2008

 

 

 

Well then it's simple really.

 

1. we use metacritics in our posts which acknowledges it as a fair way to guage a systems titles or

 

2. we never mention it here again on VGchartz.

We either use it or dont. I will point out that almost everyone here uses it when it suits them. But when anyone mentions how many the 360 has over PS3, people start saying all this rubbish. You either USE it, or NEVER use it.

Yep, the hidden costs of the ps3 - it's a shame sony didn't include them on the marketing leaflet they used to get this meme started, you all seem to have learned it by heart.

 

First of all my ps3 does play ps2 games. Second of all the ps2 is the only last gen console on the market because it's the only last gen console people care about. It has nothing to do with xbox360s support. It doesn't support that many xbox games compaired to what the ps3 support.

The ps3 supports all ps1 games. Thats more games than the xbox360 supports from other consoles so your whole point was just killed.

Besides at some point sony will probably introduce software bc for the ps2.

Also the best games this gen are on ps3. Uncharted and Metal Gear. So stop bitching.

man Uncharted get really old now & did u forget gear of war & halo 3 ? both have higher score than uncharted and for MGS4 the MGS4 come to 360 is strong now so expect it to come to 360 like FFXIII & Tekken 6.
