SSBB is like Mario Kart in the way that it's as hardcore as you want it to be.  I understand you don't like it and respect that.  I'm just glad that we can agree that Boom Blox is crap.

wow, i can't believe that anyone would have this much hate for boom blox.

i've put about 30 hours into the game and never had any problems with controls. personally i loved this game.

my one complaint - i had to play the unfun modes. loved the jenga type modes but i hated the shooting gallery and the defend the castle modes. but to progress to new challenges (including ones in other modes) i had to barrel through the modes i didn't like. i wish they would have separated the various modes so that i progress in the mode i liked without having to finish the modes i didn't.

anyways...

my 5 year old nephew owns this game. Maybe those reviews were written for him :P

Boom Blox a bad game?? I purchased it 4 months ago, played it entirely, loved every second, every mode, every level, made tons of leves with the editor, and it is still one of the most played games I have with friends at parties.

The execution of gameplay and controls is exelent, which is the core of puzzle games.

Maybe amp316 was expecting a survival horror / FPS when he played Boom Blox... I can see then why he would be dissapointed.

Well you're entitled to your opinion. I personally loved Boom Blox, and I don't drink. The graphics are certainly plain, but hardly "ugly as sin". You must care a lot more about graphics than me to come to that. Otherwise you make some valid points, but honestly it sounds like it simply didn't click for you.

Was for me, wasn't for you. That's fine, but don't go telling everyone it's awful and avoid and declare it a public service. I don't go telling people to never play Mass Effect, Wario Land: Shake It, Echochrome, BioShock, Phantom Hourglass, and a few dozen well liked games just because it didn't click for me.

If you truly want to be a help, then let's flesh out the finer points of these disconnects between us to give people who haven't played a better idea what to expect.

I've played it for about an hour. I only play 20 min. at a time because it tends to work my arm pretty good. So far, it has near perfect control but I haven't tried to grab anything yet so that part may be broken. The graphics are poor although I heard that is because the physics are so advanced. The music is horrible (like Wii Sports bad) but the sound effects are excellent. The game is really fun in short bursts but even if my arms could hold up for 60 min. straight, I doubt I'd want to play it for that long at one time. Overall, I'm very happy with my $40 purchase.

And by the way, He wasn't stating his opinion, he claimed himself the master of videogame judgment when he said "Boom Blox IS a bad game" instead of saying "I didn't like Boom Blox". Saying that he particularly did not like it would have been an opinion.
