Graphics is a nice feature but it doesnt make or break the game for me... it would be nice to have a game at 1080p 60fps and blows everygame out the water but if the game play is crappy or if it has framerate issues its a waste of time...


I agree.  Graphics only enhance gameplay.  I can't see any way graphics would actually add capabilities to a game.  IF you have some examples, I'd love to hear them.

However, I like cool graphics jsut as much as the next geek...I'm just not willing to pay 600$ to get them =).  Well I guess thats not entirely true.  I spent about twice that for me computer, but the computer does so much more than just give me pretty graphics (I'm not bashing the ps3 here guys, chill).


Graphics add better gameplay elements people.. they just dont make the game look prettier... what games are any of you playing? would the gameplay (not graphics) been possible in the previous generations??? NO

So what you are saying is that these guys are not even attemping to push the envelope? Not even optimizing the games to the fullest potential? I find it hard to believe that modern man does not have the technology to yet delve into the power of the "CELL" Gimme a break. They talk like there is all this unused power on the PS3 and it's just limping along right now. To not try to optimize the code is to accept mediocrity. Maybe that's why the PS3 sales have been so ..............mediocre.

now that i think about it.... it did take years to push the ps2 to the max... look at god of war 2... but i still dont agree with you URNOTe... graphics do help make gameplay elements better but they dont make or break the game...

so if GEARS of WAR had lets say ummmm Halo 2 graphics you mean to tell me that it still would have sold over 3 million copies.??? i dont think so... its not like they were the 1st to introduce that gameplay to games... that game KILLSWITch was waaay ahead of GEARS with its cover system...

 Graphics make or break the game lot more then anything else.

They would have to be really really ugly ass graphics to be the sole reson for a games failure, it possible but who would release that type of crap.

the only thing i can think of is that graphics themselves dont' make the game better, but AI and physics can affect gameplay.

im not saying that graphics dont matter.. im just saying without the gameplay graphics are nothing... this new game Sucker punch is Making Is anyone gonna buy it if the gameplay sucks?? it may only be using 30% but if the gameplay elements arent there then im not buying it based off of graphics alone..

im not trying to make it seem like graphics are everything but how can graphics not make the game itself better ??? the better the graphics capablilties the better the game... this game INFAMOus will probably prove that...and so will GTA IV and so forth.. look at ASSassins CREED.. the only reason that game is possible is because of better graphics capabilities...

Are you sure you don't mean processing capabilities.. because graphics really don't add to what can be done (graphics can make it more enjoyable and pleasing to look at, but that isn't affecting gameplay elements)
