This is always fun. I will ask you what your favorite something is and I'll change it tommorow. List your favorite and two runner ups, and end with one you can't stand. List the topic in your post so that people scanning thru can know what you are talking about.
Stariting with, what is your favorite strategy game (real time).
Medieval II: total war - one of the few games I know that it matters more how you use your units more than how many you have. There is nothing more fun than taking your enemies walls and then setting your longbowmen on top to fire at the enemy units at the center. Maybe using peasants to slow down the enemy advance while firing on them all with longbowmen is more fun.
runner up 1:
Warcraft 3 - more of a fighting game than strategy, they make custom scenarios where you are given a set amount of units and have to micro-manage them to victory.
runner up 2:
Starcraft - you make big army, I make big army, attack-move, soldiers go BOOM!
Cant stand:
Total Annihilation: Kingdoms - Building up massive armies and attack moving like starcraft, except it is monotonous and boring. Probably because Starcraft had rock, paper, scissors combat, where Kingdoms does not.
I'll tally them up at 5:00 tommorow and change subject.
