Forums - Sales Discussion - Predict sales of th PS3 on LBP week and state why.

There is advertizing going on for this game already over here (Belgium).

The game is being marketed with big signs and items at every store that sells anything concerning computer games.

And there's a 160GB console coming out around the time of its release (which will be snagged up rather fast over here).

Those will stimulate Others-sales positively. So considering the fact that the PS3 still sold some 62.000 units on average (the past four weeks)...

It should perform around 100k in LBP-week (in Others) with the release of the SKU / bundles / multiple releases before, at or after the LBP launch. (like bioshock / LBP / PES / Socom / Valkyria Chronicles).

WW PS3 = 148,000
360 = 203,000
Wii = 400,000

All on LBP week.

Fable will be big, but LBP will be huge

I would expect it be selling above OP anyway, even without LBP, but anyway

US: 85k
Others: 125k
Japan: 35k

Total: 245k

I'd say 160k to 180k WW, as launch dates are quite spread around the world, so first week can't receive full simultaneous effect.

I missed the part where he asked about the sales of the other systems. Don't troll.

Anyways, here are my predictions:

Americas: 72k

PAL: 108k

Japan: 20k

200k worldwide

See? It's nice and rounded.

Doesn't it release in JP a week after it's NA launch?

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

Yes it does Tyrranical, but I assume that people are saying the launch week as in they will delay Japan's numbers until it actually launches and then add all the numbers together for first weeks in each region.

@ torillan, I totally forgot about that

750k worldwide software
215k worldwide hardware

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

@Munkeh11

well even if you didn't, my theory on how to change the meaning would work fine and noone has to change their numbers to accommodate the different launch dates.
