Forums - Gaming - VideoGame Prices - Whats Your Opnion?

My opinion is that they are extortionist and inappropriate. No game is worth more than £20 and no piece of hardware worth more than £100. Indeed, it is the sheer cost of gaming that has caused me to quit in favour of free flash games. So whats your opinion? Are they justified? Are they too much or would be prepared to pay more? Do you have any solutions (not piracy)?

(This is not just because of the global financial crises, I have always felt prices were too high and decided to air my views.)

No hardware should be above £100?

I have to say that I do not agree with either of these points.

I think the PS2 is that price and all its games are below that price.

No, while I do think that there should be more equality in WW prices for the UK, most consoles are reasonable, the PS3 should be cheaper, but since it costs so much Sony dont really have much choice at the moment.

Last-gen SW prices were far more reasonable, and I would say £40 RRP is far more reasonable, but I buy almost every game online

I think that games are pretty expensive. I almost never buy new games because I prefer to pay less :) With that said, games are a lot cheaper these days compared to the SNES and N64 years.

Much too high, -especially- handheld games.

Console games are a bit too expensive, consoles itself not that much.

relative to other mediums, the price per entertainment time is ridiculously low*, including the cost of consoles.

that being said, they need to use the online stores to set different pricing structures. one flat rate for every game is not right.

*edit: low not high

i officially boycott boycotts.  crap.

They're way too expansive, imo. I can't afford all the games and consoles I want. Even Wii is too pricey. 150$ max. for it. Games shouldn't be more than 40$.
