Another 90+ exclusive for Wii. Mark it

it's not exclusive. It's on PC.

Well true, but some consider "console exclusives" particularly in the X360s case where many of it's "exclusives" are not in truth exclusive.

How do you buy it on a PC anyway? because if it's too expensive on disc here in Europe I may do that... i'm not going to sign up to steam for this, I presume I can (will be able to) buy it from the World of Goo website?

Although I don't have a mouse, so it might be awkward with a touchpad.... I wish there were a free demo (I believe there is a demo but you have to pre-order the game to get it, which is irritating)

where to get the goo

launch day is coming up this monday and the 2d boys have never been so anxious and excited!  world of goo will still be available for purchase on our website, and the boxed version is already available for pre-order on amazon.com.

starting this monday, you’ll also be able to purchase it on wiiware, steam, and direct2drive.  the game’s nintendo channel page is already up as is the steam page.  thanks to the two jasons and doug over at valve for helping us get the game set up with steamworks so quickly! (can you say achievements?).  huge thanks to dan adelman at nintendo for all the help and support he’s given us over the last year.

the game will also be available on greenhouse, the most indie friendly portal there is.  2d boy cheers for penny arcade and hothead games for bringing it into existence.

last but not least, the good people at brighter minds, our retail publisher for the PC version in north america will make the game available on their new portal, beanstalk games.  thanks ran and jody!

[ update: several people who have pre-ordered have asked us if they’d be able to activate the game on steam.  we contacted valve about this and the answer is a big fat YES.  when the game releases, anyone who pre-ordered from our website will be able to use their magic key to activate the game on steam. we’re working with them right now to make this happen. ]

No way I'm paying € 40 for this game when it is only $ 15 in the US, so unless they bring the price down by 50% they lost a customer and I actually hope many Europeans will act the same. They really should be forced by law to add "costs only $ 15 in the US" to the box so people realize how much they're getting screwed.

I can only presume it will be budget price (£20 or 25-30 Euros)

Well, the information that is available on the internet seems to indicate it will be € 40, but of course that info could be incorrect.

Can a US Wii gift a game to an EU Wii?

Can you use a Wii points card bought in the US?

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)

Beh, i was going to purchase this for sure, but i don't understand why we can't get the wiiware version like americans do.

Simple answer: 2D Boy found a publisher in Europe, but not in North America.

Longer answer: you'll be getting exclusive content that we won't, so it'll probably come close to balancing out in the end.

@noname2200

No way it will balance out, it never does when you compare the US to Europe. But even then this one will be one of the worst offenders. The only way that additional content justifies a pricepoint 3 times as high and a 4 month later release date is when the US release ends up being close to a demo of the European version.

I downloaded it and it's really fun! I've beaten the first 8 or so levels, very addicting!
