Forums - Gaming Discussion - One big game, enough for you to buy the console?

For me, it takes more than one game to justify the purchase of a console. I need at least two or three games that I want before I will buy the console. It just isn't worth it to pay a couple of hundred dollars for one game.

When I bought my Wii, I knew I would like Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Brawl, and Kart. That makes it a really easy purchase.

No. One big game could be the thing that pushes the system over the top and worth buying for me but that would be based on other games the console already has or soon will. I don't think anybody truly buys a system for one game. Think about it, how many people only have a single game for a system they paid the full price for or at least a reasonable sum of money?

Would you buy that system had it been the only game for the system and nothing else coming out for it? Essentially you would be paying hundreds of dollars for a single game. How many games are worth that amount?

I'll come up with something better eventually...

It's funny, that game entered my mind when I was typing about a game costing hundreds of dollars. My friend bought the game and it seemed he liked it but I never seen him play it. I do know that not too long after, the huge controller(s) was collecting dust.
