I might buy Camecube for Zelda games.

Might get a 360 for Resident Evil 5....

I sold my ps1 to buy a n64 just to play mario 64, I made a big mistake
I bought a gamecube just to play MGS TTS, that was stupid too.

I got a n64 for Zelda: OoT.

I got a ps2 instead of gamecube for FF10 and because I didn't like what I say from Zelda: WW.

I got a psp for a road trip but knew about Crisis Core and GoW:CoO.

I got a ps3 for multiple reasons though, BC with my ps2 games, Uncharted, MGS4, and FF13/v.

I got a Wii because of TP and because after watching the numbers on here I knew that the Japanese devs and a lot of jrpgs would be going there with it selling so well in Japan.  edit- Forgot that I played Umbrella Chronicles at a friends house and had so much fun playing it that it, combined with Zelda, and actually finding a Wii in stores led me to my purchase of it.

KotOR would make me buy a console... so would a Baldur's Gate game made by Bioware.... but I suppose there is no ONE game that would make me buy a console at launch... now MGS4 is what will eventually get me to purchase a PS3, but that's when I can afford it.

I would only do such a thing if I had a lot of money, and nothing to spend it on.

If I did, I would buy a PS3 for Disgaea 3, but since I don't like to part with money except for a few select things (gaming is not typically one of them, exception: WoW) I won't be playing Disgaea 3 for a while.

Hmm.... nothing else after that....

Mgs 4 and Final Fantasy XIII was one of big reason for me to get Ps3,but PS3 ITSELF WAS BIG ENOUGHT.

I've bought consoles for small un-hyped games before.

I'd buy a PS3 TOMORROW if they remade Shadow of the Colossus on it.
