Battle system seems somewhat similar, both have wide open areas to explore, with no random battles. Your companions are set with strategies beforehand, and you can issue commands yourself.

I hope it is like it since I thought Final Fantasy XII was amazing.

I was never a fan of FF12, but most of its faults were not due to the battle system. Although i did not like the battle system and i'm not looking forward to it in this game, you don't really have much of a choice when this is the only JRPG coming out on the PS3.

Yes. There are some similarities. Am hoping this is more action the FFXII in the end though. I found myself just walking and the GAMBITS handle everything else........

Thats not a good thing. Actually it is because that game got rave reviews but not from the fans.
