Thanks for the demo videos. I got such a rush watching the hunter dive in the water and getting back out. I get such excited thrills just watching that, but that's just me.

Monster Hunter is a mismatch as far as Genre

I consider it a Action Survival game with RPG elements. (Equipments)

Aside from that there are very very little RPG elements involved, it just gives off the vibe that your in a RPG. (Which is a good thing)

Not exactly, Hunting is what you do sure, but Hunting is within survival, you have to keep yourself alive in many of the missions where there are a lot of predators and your hunting a wyrem. You have to find your resources if your not already prepared when the hunt begins to drag out.

Survival is usually the term used for games with a getaway theme heavily involved with it, because otherwise you'd be labelling almost every single game in the survival genre. Maybe there's another term more suitable for Monster Hunter.

Edit: Actually, you do have to hunt for food and stuff like that aswell, so that makes more sense for the survival labelling.

Horror Survival is another thing ^_^ that usually involves getting away.

Just because a games genre is Action doesn't mean it has to look like an action game, Brawl is labled an action game but most people understand it as a Fighter. ^_^ But speaking strictly it is an Action game.

Not just horror, but stuff like Lost in Blue also.

But yeah, I guess MH does have elements of survival in there.
