Looks like N upped it's shipment of Wiis for the release of DQS, proving that they do stockpile, on a small scale at least, giving hope that they are still accumulating the motherload of Wiis which will be unleashed over the Holiday/Money season!

Actually, looks to me like they diverted some units from the US/Europe for this week in particular. With sales in US back to normal *this* week, maybe this will fall to normal figures next week.

The Wii is starting to track similar to the Wii - just ahead of where the DS was at this time. Going to be really interesting to see where everything is at this point next year...

I can see DQ:S II being put into development soon...

Well, I sure do hope so!

Those are amazingly strong and stable numbers for Zelda. 70k week 4? It wasnt looking like it was going to make it to a million, but with this weeks numbers its ahead of even Yoshi Island DS that did 800+k Its going to make it to the 1million mark.

And also Just like that, Wii has the best selling 3rd party game in Japan Next Gen wise. Only took one week.

As for the "But its Dragon Quest" view,

When FF13 comes out, will we get to disqualify its sales because "B-b-but its Final Fantasy!"?

Dont think so, give respect where its due.

NSMB has a "magical" quality to it, that as a game, places it far above everything else I have played on the DS (IMO).

From what I have seen of Zelda, it has similar (if not quite the same) qualities.

It also puts down the "theory" of WindWaker not doing well because of the graphical style (still prefer it to Twilight, although I do like both).

The difference is that the "hype" for NSMB was huge - much, much bigger than Zelda (esp. in Japan).

I so can't wait for Zelda to hit Aussies shores (hell, make that US shores - I'll definitely be importing this baby!).

The Nintendo software advantage is enormous. The DS & Wii represent almost 90% of the Japanese software market. Can it get any higher?
