Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo employee talks about ‘exciting’ mystery game

vdoesntforgive, no, not really. You should know, especially seeing as how you visit VGChartz, of so-called "internet hits". Remember No More Heroes? Zack & Wiki? No, it's not very impressive that it's "owning up the internet", because it's happened oh so many times before. The only reason Mother 3 is still an issue is because it was, in fact, not released. If it were released stateside and possibly in EU as well back then, you'd hear about it as much as you hear about, say, No More Heroes now. Or, rather, as much as you'd hear about No More Heroes in about a year.

I know. I'm just saying the fanbase isn't THAT small.

I would think that if M3 could sell at the very least what NMH did in the west, it would be a success.

Probably. But I don't think it'd sell what NMH did in the west, to be honest. I think it'd be a profit for Nintendo, regardless, but just that it's such a small profit that they don't bother.

Why is people getting their hopes up over a phrase a guy made?
Sigh.

so forgive my ignorance but who is JC Rodrigo? do we know anything about his tastes in games? if he's excited about it the game should fall somewhat in line with those tastes.

The Guy in the Middle is JC Rodrigo, his NOA title is: Marketing Support Especialist Product Development. HE told me, he works with Miyamoto.

Realistically, there are probably dozens of titles that Nintendo could publish that would both be exciting as well as being considered the "deep end" ... For example, back when Nintendo announced Animal Forest + (Animal Crossing) was being released on the Gamecube in North America they mentioned that it was their largest localization effort ever. It was such a large effort because it had more in game text than any Nintendo game before it, and they also had to add/change content because of differences in holidays (and what not).

The other thing that needs to be considered is that I (and other people) have been wondering what a lot of Nintendo's studios are up to being that Nintendo has released less Wii and DS games than their studios have the capacity to produce. Now, I don't want to suggest any conspiracy theories but, it is possible that Nintendo has finished development of an exciting game that has yet to be announced and are waiting to release it (for some reason); theoritically, it could be a game which might be dependant on Wii MotionPlus and (until that is released) they can't release the game.
