this movie will change your life...

Around the Network

I still haven't watched the first one, and don't know if I ever will. Maybe if I have some free time I'll get drunk and watch both for the lulz.

I support getting off the grid and becoming self-sustainable, and I might already believe a few of the other wacky tales, but I'm immune to having sourceless internet documentaries change my life.

I'm still waiting for a friend to lend me his copy of the first one. I'll check the new one out after that.

"Let justice be done though the heavens fall." - Jim Garrison

"Ask not your horse, if ye should ride into battle" - myself

So what the hell is this thing supposed to be? I am in the same boat with Rubang. If your life significantly changes because of something that came exclusively from the internet, you probably need to just kill yourself now and get it over with.

You will save you and us a hell of a lot of trouble.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

The original Zeitgeist was definitely worth a watch and quite sobering. I'll have to get back to this one.

Around the Network

Unless it consists of an apology for the dip-shit insane conclusions drawn from cherrypicked and madeup facts, I'm not expecting to enjoy it.

Really, Zeitgeist is a joke.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

lol...I was waiting for you to enter the thread.

In all honesty...you are the reason I stayed away from the movie before.

Then my friend brought over the copy he had rented from our local obscure video store.

And it was good.  Mind you, I always watch documentaries with a block of salt....and I am sensitive to the cherry-picking and ways in which the magician performs his craft...

But the only thing I really found terribly wrong with the movie were the horrible pieces of computer psychadelia thrown in between the sections.  I think the last thread was an over-reaction to a simple film that was just making a few points.  My favorite was about the Federal Reserve bank....and I had already seen Loose Change....so 911 conspiracy stuff was old hat for me.

Oh, it's very well put together to tug on your emotions and paranoia, but most of the stuff in the first part (religion) is just made up. The second part (911) is offensively fucktarded and once it gets in to the federal reserve bank...

I watched it with an economics major who had just received a major award for his thesis. During their take on banking, watching him was far more entertaining than watching the movie. I've never seen a man so torn between wanting to laugh and facepalm at the same time. I imagine it's akin to an English major sitting through an Ebonics class.

If a 2 hour video can change your life you've got some issues...

I watched the first 20 minutes for kicks and I already knew probably 80% of what he talked about...woohoo.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

stof's sig owns this thread.
