Forums - Website Topics - Concerning a Database Problem

So I'm trying to add in Steel Battalion to the database - you know the one! Giant mech sim, comes with a forty-button controller, a hundred and fifty bucks, probably the best game ever released. Ever.

I do this because I seek to add it to my collection, but when I do a search for it, lo - all that greets me is Line of Contact, the online version of the game.

"Ah!" says I, "I shall add this game, for the sake of my own fortunes, and be the only one who owns it for a time."

So I go to add it, filling out the small form and submitting it.

"This game is already in the database," it says to me. Hm! Peculiar.

I go back in and search for Xbox titles with the word "Steel" in the title. Again, there's Line of Contact, but not the actual McCoy. All right, fine, maybe it was misspelled - so I go in under the "S" for Xbox games, search manually through it, and - aw man. Line of Contact, but no Steel Battalion!

Naturally I still cannot add it to the database. What gives?

@Oyvoyvoyv: Line of Contact is a sequel, he wants to add the original.

Ahh, ok. I didn't know if it was the original or a sequel.

I have taken care of the problem.
You'll find Steel Battalion in the Database.

Thanks! Any word on what my problem was, or is it just a kink in the system?

@khuutra: I'm betting it's the "auto search", which finds you the game with impartial info. Now that you did a search with a name, that was impartial from a existing name in the database, the autosearch filled it up with an existing name.

The game existed already in the Database under its japanese name Tekki and Steel Battalion itself was marked as a duplicate game because Tekki has the sales figures.
If a game was already deleted every new try of adding it to the database with the exact same name results in the message 'This game is already in the database'.
