Forums - Sony - Finally gets 5 hours alone with a PS3!

I will lovingly point out that I can only play what he has bought. He doesn't own Motorstorm, so Yog-Sothoth (His name, a Lovecraft nut) won't be racing for a while.

Why on Earth would I want to have 5 seperate user names, ID's and consoles just because I want to play a game single player, or show the cool Darkness opening to a friend? At least you apparently can do that, but Jesus that's lazy. Quick vote, do you prefer Oblivion's, which lets multiple characters, a quick start and acceptance that a 60 gig harddrive will take a long time to fill, or the Log on/off system, which doesn't save Harddrive space, takes up more for a profile, hopefully doesn't involve the game re-installing itself, and adds more loading time, however, a bit more security that no one can save over your game. Just asking.

Thanks for the update on that, though so next time I get a chance, I may make a profile and try Rainbow 6. I was told that the single player was fun, but that annoyed the living hell out of me 1 per log in. I will admit my preference for twitch, but I liked the darkness, and it's less than 30% twitch. And the Terrorist Portion did allow my Rambo style of play. Doesn't matter who I shoot, just that they die. Raised on Quake will do that to you I guess.

Nobody complains with the same thing on PC. I mean it used to be like that on PCs, but I think it's been since XP, where now with each user account, you have different game saves.

Also, the reason behind that, is that each user account, has a different PSN account (well one that it logs into automatically anyway), so it meas each user can have separate friends etc. Like other's have said, it only takes 30 secs to create a new one. I personally think you're crying over spilt milk.

Tispower: Hmm, I don't seem to recall that happening on Windows Xp. Ever. Not a single time. Though I havn't played every 3d shooter on XP. Maybe S.T.A.L.K.E.R? Maybe it happens with Vista and Games for Windows. That too would irritate the hell out of me. There is 0 reason for it. 0.

And if so, well, now, doesn't that just fucking invalidate the "We've got X unique Playstation ID's" statements they make? This very very simple fact annoys the hell out of me. Crying over spilled milk, perhaps, but some strange things make me very angry.

Sounds a bit lazy to me.

Games should give an option to "continue without saving".

The Wii has "Guest" profiles built in, for when you want a quick game without creating a user. Quite useful. No data is saved for these, so you can use them over and over again.

Out of the game we've got, it happens with AOE III, C & C Generals, AOM, Sim City 4 and Sims 2. The game where you choose the user name in gamer are: AOE II, Sudden Strike 2, Midtown Madness 2, BF 1942, Red Alert 2, and (the orininal-MS-DOS version) C & C. Those are the only games I can think if at the moment (and yes, we do have many old school games, and not many new ones :P).

The reason being, is that you wouldn't want your brother/sibling/etc logging onto their account and being to delete your save file easily. It's still easy to do so, (by going to your documents and app data I think), but cannot be done accidentally, as app data is a hidden file.

"We've got X unique Playstation ID's" Tey're probably referring to the master accounts, of which there can only be one per console.
