Meh. I Bought my 80gb for HDD space, USB ports, card slots. PS2 bc was a small factor.....

It seems very possible, particularly if Sony is not planning on cutting the price, As PS2 support will only enhance perceived value. Which they will definitely need against a $200 360 this year.


One can only imagine what would happen if it actually Upgraded the graphics in PS2 games to 1080p, or even render everything at 2x and then scale it to 1080p. And then top it off start re releasing PS2 titles on PSN like ICO and FFX. I seem to remember FF12 looked really good when i played it with xploader hdtv player (granted the TV i played it on had a zoom feature to deal with the distorted picture)

Well, saying that the PS3 is the lowest priced BD Player proves that they're not concerned about false advertising.

There were rumors a couple of months ago that software BC would be announced in October. Could we see something at TGS?

It would be awesome, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

If this happen it won't concern me too much since I have an 80 gig but I hope it happens and that it fixes the ToA Choral Castle glitch.

Anyone notice that the item was BACKORDERED.

That the controller add on was a Sixaxis.
That the add-on games included 08 sports games.

This is the OLD 80G model -- the first one that had the software emulation.

This is not something new -- it is something old and gone.

They are referring to the PS2 BC FW update for the old 60Gb & 80Gb models which had GS chip.

It's just a really old advertisement, which explains the cheapest BD Player comment.

I dont understand why a person would buy a PS3 to play PS2 games. Whats the fucken point of gettin a PS3 then.
