i'd buy a xbox 360 if the price was 199.99 for the elite or pro version.

ps3, i might buy one now. 399 isn't bad.

the wii costs too much.

Bare minimum?

Wii: $299 (I was thrilled when I heard it would launch @ 250)

Xbox 360: $149 for the cheap one, and $199 for the elite. maybe next year. ;)

PS3: $225 (I have a ways to go)

X360 Pro - $250. Elite - $325

Wii - $150 ($250 is way above what the hardware in it costs)

PS3 - $300 non-bc, $375 w/bc.

If I somehow didn't own any, I would pay $300 for any of them. I would only chose PS3 in this situation if it has PS2 BC though. Since I have DS, Wii, PSP, and 360, I would currently pay $200 for a PS3. If there as no Blu Ray, I would pay $50. This is because I have more games than I can play, and this will remain the case for the rest of the generation most probably.

It's not really a simple "at this price I would get it" proposition. There's a whole slew of requirements for me to even consider getting a new system, not the least of which are a decent existing library of games I'm interested in, the promise of more games I'm interested in for the near and distant future release list, and the reliability of the hardware. On top of that, the more the system gives me the "same old game console" vibes, the less likely I am to get it.

Should the system pass the requirements, I'll pay for it based on how well it met them. My upper limit being $250 for the system itself, for practicality reasons.

The prices they are currently at. I mean i haven't bought them yet because i'm not to motivated... but no price drop would currently motivate me more unless it was temporary.
