Forums - Nintendo - NEWvids of Call of Duty 5 WII

I'm happy they ported the COD 4 engine & weren't lazy. This will be the 2nd shooter to have online & wii's been out for 2 yrs :O

8 player online is better than no online, & honestly, 8 players on wii's crappy online isn't THAT bad.

2 player co-op, one fps & one rail shooter could be fun.

I'll stick to Heroes 2 because of the superior controls and online, thanks. But they game does have nice graphics, too bad I don't care about that too much (that's why I own a Wii :P).

Nice that Wii is being included in multiplatform releases.

# of games above 75 on Metacritic (including downloadable):

360: 241     DS: 144

PS3: 152     PSP: 126

Wii: 85

cool!!

it looks really good, and the graphics as well!!

if the controls are good, i may get it!

8 Player online is pathetic, At the least 12 creates a frag experience 16 is a little much and 24+ is insane. They should of shot for 4 more.

I believe Heroes is around the 24 marker and in that game you have something to do every one in a while... 8 will probably mean long gaps between action.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Since the bar was set at 32 over a year ago by EA with a PSP port, 8 players really is pathetic and I don't think the platform excuses it. High Voltage is guaranteeing 16 and they only have 30 people on their dev team. I don't think that online games have to have tons of players to be fun (16-24 is my sweet spot), but I doubt 8 players will be fun on a map designed to contain far more on HD consoles.

I do agree that the co-op mode is kind of cool though. It's like SMG's co-op: A nice way for somebody who finds the core gameplay too complex to participate in the game anyway.

EA uses their own servers for Online, not Nintendo's server.

So you don't think a teensy company like Activision-Blizzard can compete with EA's online infrastructure?

And High Voltage promises better, without any announced backing from a major publisher.

Sorry, these excuses just don't wash.

I hope they work out that bounding box a little more before release. There's no reason for this not to play as good as MoH:H2 or at least Prime.

My Games of 2011:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Super Mario 3D Land

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

I still want to see some direct feed of the game personally, you can't tell a whole lot from the videos on the site. I read hands on about it and I wasn't sure about it then I see the videos and I really want it so I'm going back and forth. I hope the online play is pretty good.

Joystiq is quite pleased. From the demos, the main loss from the HD versions is just the visuals. The scale and AI are otherwise the same.
