Forums - Sony - Oh Snap! Beautiful Katamari Cancelled on PS3 to be replaced by other game?

http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/805/805606p1.html

Bandai Namco Games unleashed a big surprise at Sony's PlayStation Premier event today in Tokyo with the announcement of an all new game from Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi.

Titled Nobi Nobi Boy, all we have on this PlayStation 3 title are just a couple of pieces of artwork. The artwork and name ("Nobi" can mean "to stretch" in Japanese) suggests that the game will center around a flexible wormlike creature of some form.

So much for the claims of Japanese support for PS3 weakening.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Interesting.  You think M$ bought Beautiful Katamari and the guy is free to create another game for the PS3?

The PS3 is in dire need of some great Japanese-minded games, too.  I think the PS3 has FPS and Driving for the US covered.

Well that's what they're doing. The Katamari creator and Namco are bringing this new game to PS3.

Bah! PS3 is just getting the cheap spin-offs. All the main series games are going to other platforms ;)

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

Actually, PS3 is not getting cheap sequels. It's getting new creative stuff.

lol, it's funny because people criticized the PS3 because it wasn't getting a whole lot of new games, but just more games from series. That was funny.

Ah of course. When Wii gets new games, it's "clearly developers are just putting their third and fourth string teams and not trusting their well known franchises with the Wii."

But when the PS3 gets them, "clearly developers are pushing the boundaries on the PS3. Those other consoles can have the old crappy sequels, the PS3 is getting all the new creative stuff."

Namco HAS to produce a certain amount of games for the PS3... it's part of their contract with Sony, they got payed to do this before the PS3 started having problems (sales wise).  Remember the Ken Kutaragi deal?? This game is being made to uphold their end of the deal.  So I expect at least another 4 games from Namco for the PS3.  The sooner they make the games... the sooner they can walk away from the system.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.
