You 360 owners are lucky, this game looks amazing, I still dont understand why in the world sqaure would jump from playstation to 360 for a JRPG.

The bling haha.
But yes great JRPG addition for 360. Game shaping up nicely.

What's great is that they are getting rid of those blue text boxes that were in SO3's cutscenes. I am more comfortable with the way cutscenes are being presented in this game. The gameplay scenery is quite large so that's tolerable. The game will be tons of fun to play. This game is already better than SO3 and no one has even played it yet.
absolutely looking good, can not wait for this game to be released

You silence your FILTHY mouth. The blue text boxes go all the way back to SO1.
Look at its eyebrows, it's checking Reimi out. And apparently it likes what it sees.

I am ashamed I share the first 4 letters of my user name with bobo019234238419823.
And those screenshots look great. A HUGE step above Infinite Undiscovery.

No. The whole story of Star Ocean 4 (which is a prequel to the rest of the SO series), is that World War 3 started in 2063, destroying most every part of the Earth (hence the nukes going off, and the pictures of ruined cityscapes). Humanity makes contacts with aliens and rebuilds somewhat, and sends the first crews off to explore space - Which your character is part of.

And then your ship crash on an underdevelopped planet with a medieval setting where you stay for 3/4 of the game killing enemy with a sword and magic *argh!*. Sorry, I love SO battle system (better real time one out there, though I didn't play Vesperia yet) but I kind of have a love/hate thing going when it come to the story.
Not really surprised they decided to go with a prequel, they kind of dug themself in a hole with SO3 story at the end.

wow, this game shits all over FF 13, and yeah the main guy does look like Emil HD from ToS2

Using the blue boxes was fine for SO1 and 2 was fine because they didn't use VA during the "cutscenes"(I know the remakes for both games did though). However, SO3 used VA for a lot of its cutscenes. I am sure SO4 will use text boxes in the non-VA's cutscenes but when the cutscenes are voiced, I prefer to just use subtitles on the bottom of the screen a la Lost Odyssey instead of blue text boxes.
pics look very good.
i hope it will come to the PS3.
I just finished the PSP first departure. It was good but way too easy.
Hope it will be more challenging this time.
