Considering I was just complaining the other day about the lack of games that interest me coming, Punch Out's announcement easily satisfies me.
Maybe Nintendo game fans are too busy playing to post.
Or maybe the posters are actually jealous fans of other consoles.
The most ardent fans will always want more. But what that subgroup does not realize is that it is a small percentage of fans. If the attach rate of an average console is less than 10 over its lifespan, and you have 50 or 100 games for it, then you are several standard deviations from the mean. You could be considered so far off to be off your rocker But it also means that you want much more -- more than most people will buy and more than a company can profitably produce.

Me too, Woopah. 2009 has so much promise.
The end of this year is going to make me happy already (Animal Crossing, ToS:DotNW).
I like to Reference the Jay & Silent Bob movie when there are meatheads posting some BS, where at the end of the movie they find out where all the people talking smack about them live and kick their asses. Wouldnt it be nice? Haha
nintendo IS greedy there no denying in that but they also make good games.
but still not huge title comming around imo.
"remakes", and niche games (actually a good thing but none i care about).
waiting til tgs.
i dont see how any company can be greedy, there just trying to get the most money for their shareholders which is kinda their job. im including M$ and Sony in this.
also not trolling or a anything but what would be a huge title? cos to me Dynamic Slash looks like an awesome new IP that will most likely use motion+

I'd rather call them economical than greedy. They're making a lot of money of their innovation, but so is countless other companies like for instance Apple.
I can't understand the problem you have with these remakes.
Honestly, it's genious.
They take old awesome games, that are hard to find for a reasonable price nowadays (in most countries at least), use a very short time to add some controls to add to the quality, and sell them.
This way,
- No new Nintendo games are not made, or delayed.
- Wii owners get a change of buying old, awesome games with new controls.

The DS upgrades ARE regressive in many ways (no GBA, worse battery life, worse screen (same res but larger means worse looking) It's the DS. lol. Not the GBA. Go play GBA games on your GBA if you want. Hell, go get the GCN gameboy player. I don't really play my DS over 6 hours at a time and I generally plug mine in when I'm done. And they'll prolly go the same route that they did with GB->GBA. Just give you the option to extend the screen. Wii games were mainly expected How is the relevent? Wii storage solution is SD cards...in 2008/09 that is the best they could do It's the most efficient thing. etc etc etc... |
What you said wasn't opinion.
