After reading more about this throughout the day I think I may be wrong about the widescreen.

That's actually a very good point.
Last year Nintendo changed corporate policy regarding new game info such that they only want a few months between announcement and actual release where as Sony tried to gain hype as early as possible whihc unfortunately means waiting several years for some games.

Not sure about the US but trying to buy Gamecube games in Australia is and has been virtually impossible for more than 3 years. Gamecube absolutely died in the ass here and many stores stopped supporting the system long before Nintendo did, so i for one am happy about the chance to play Pikmin 2, for example, as long as the price is reasonable.
I heard the price for Pikmin is around $30.00
I hope the others are a little cheaper but I definitely plan on getting Prime 1 & 2 and both Pikmin's.
Nintendo is coming through in the clutch.
