Forums - Sales - Sales of Disaster: Day of Crisis

Now that we've seen the first-week sales in Japan for this long-awaited Nintendo-published Wii game, I'm just wondering how everyone thinks it'll end up doing in Japan. This is purely about Japan, I personally think that it will do a lot better in America and Others(but I don't think it'll reach a million, to be honest). I think it'll most likely reach 50k lifetime in Japan, possibly higher but only if it manages to have good legs. I think it's a bit disappointing, even though this game clearly wasn't aimed towards Japanese audiences. I'm not saying the game flopped, I just feel like it underperformed a bit in Japan.

So what do you all think? What do you think of it's current performance, and how do you think it'll end up doing?

If you want to talk of the other regions too, that's fine, but I'd prefer that discussion be mostly aimed to the Japanese sales.

This is definitely not a game to the Japonese market. If you want, compare it with Fatal Frame (you can even compare with PS2 releases), an established franchise for some years now, and you'll see that it's not that bad.

i plan on buying this... i hope it sells more

disaster may sell like fatal frame but that was more catered to the japaneese market then disaster. i think we need to wait for the awesome wii RPGs that are starting to come out
