Forums - Nintendo - a few scraps of info on the New Wii Zelda

http://www.gamernode.com/News/3289-E3-07-The-Director-Phantom-Hourglass-and-Zeldas-Future/index.html

I've never used Gamernode so I have no idea of the reliablity, interesting info anyway :)

"He said that he wants a whole different base of control to take form for the next addition to the series -- to open up the main Zelda adventures on Wii for the casual gaming crowd as has Phantom Hourglass done with the DS. When asked about one-to-one swordplay and full Wiimote control, he said he was dying to flesh out all the ideas but says its still pretty open.

In regards to the game's storyline, Aonuma didn't release too much information, so the story of the game is still out there. But he did say that he wants to offer something in the next Zelda that all gamers will like -- both casual and hardcore."

"..just keep on trying 'till you run out of cake"

I would love to see something scaled right back in terms of scope/size, but much more immersive.

Something where you start in the castle, and take 5 hours to learn how to fight properly - rather than 5 seconds. Maybe using the balance board + Wiimote for slashing.

All seriousness aside, I felt like I should post this from Game Informer Magazine Vol. 168, if you haven't already read it.

The unveiling of a new Zelda game is a momentous industry event, but Nintendo recently lost is chance at a big reveal when a secret internal document leaked. This detailed form not only reveals the whimsical title of the upcoming entry- it clearly describes every major weapon, item, and dungeon in the entire game.

WARNING: The following paragraph contains major spoilers!

Link will start the game with a weak, wooden sword. However, after several hours, he will obtain something known as the "Master Sword", which is significantly stronger. He will also use bombs, arrows, and a hookshot to explore a land called Hyrule and its puzzle-laden dungeons. The dungeons will incorporate environmental themes: one contains a lot of fire, another is full of ice, and there's even one out in the desert!

At this point, the only other mystery that remains is who will be the final boss: Ganon or Ganondorf. You'll just have to play the game and enjoy the surprise.

Very good stuff.

A Zelda MMORPG would make a lot of people happy.

Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>

Uuhhh... I don't know how many Zelda games you've played, but what you've just said is Zelda at its core. Those things are in no way spoilers.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
