I really love looking at the fantastic journalism here on VGC, but let's be honest--those threads aren't as active as those in the main forum.
Currently, each time you refresh the page, you need to scroll at least halfway down to see the hot topics again. Since the average poster posts on the forums much more than the news, I propose that new news stories get moved to the left side of the page, in the big white space underneath (or above) the large ad banner.
This would leave only the big news stories at the top, and let us know of new submissions, but we wouldn't need to spend half our time on the main page scrolling
