What do you think sony will do to get there sales above 360. Surely they wont just sit back and do nothing but i could be wrong. Will we see a price drop or maybe sony will just come up with some bundles?

They will do nothing but wait to see sustained effects, as we all should.

Sony should wait until after the holidays. 2009 will be the PS3's 3rd year and probably its peak year, while the 360 is a year older. With that in mind, they can see how 360 vs. PS3 works during holiday season and kill the 360 come holiday 2009.

This topic doesn't warrant this many threads. Any company that reacts in a knee jerk fashion to a weekly sales count right after a price cut deserves to go bankrupt. Sony has to wait and watch. Most likely 360 sales will be below PS3 sales within a month.

They will sit back and do nothing. There isn't much they can do. Microsft kept costs of production lower and can charge a lower price, sparking demand. PS3 may lost this holiday season. All I can see Sony doing is increasing advertising a bit, bundling in LBP free with $400 PS3s this fall, and dropping the price $30-$50 next spring.

Sony has to be mildly disconcerted. Others is easily Sony's strongest segment, and the 360 outsold them by 26,000 units. You have to imagine the 360 will also win worldwide this week. That would be three subsequent victories for the 360.

I don't know if Sony can swing price cuts yet. And everything they have said to their stockholders - not to the public but the people they report to, and in Japan that's huge - has said that they will NOT be cutting prices. So we will see. It is getting interesting though.

nothing, they have big games coming out, if its bad, i dont expect any changes till febuary january earliest. sony rolled the dice and is betting they can stay close this holliday without a price dop, i think they are willing to lose ground, up to even 2 million units, though i dont fell they will have to lose that much

Look, 360 just had 3 detatched price cuts.....wouldn't it be more surprising if they weren't in lead for at least a few weeks?

Sony has a lot of work to do...

They made progress this year, but that progress may evaporate by Christmas.

2009 looks good for Sony, but so did 2007 and 2008. People won't wait forever.
