I think changing it from a dumb DVD where you just do what the person does, to a videogame, will make it more appealing.
Have you ever driven a car where you can see your current miles per gallon? Doesn't that wanna make you make that number go up, no matter what it takes? It is atleast a little more encouraging to have a constant reminder of what you're doing. I think if you can SEE what you're doing on the TV and it will tell you if you're doing it right, you will feel like doing it more often, because you GOTTA get it right, to beat the game!
CLOUD STRIFE IS GOING TO MELT THOSE lbs OFF YOUR FLABBY REAR IN JUST 30 MINS A DAY! FFVII: Training Day, only for the Wii! (Sequels comming to Cell Phone only)

While I see it being implemented by Nintendo (1080 franchise, new Skating IP?), I do not see it getting 3rd party support. I would like to hear how he would plan to implement it on RPG titles and actually adding a level of immersion. |
Increase your strength by doing 100 push ups, squat thrusts to increase agility and sit ups to increase stamina? If they do this I think I might end up having a heart attack due to over exertion.
I wonder if one of the FFXIII spin offs will be FXIII fitness?
SE fitness or snowboarding games...
Or they tack on a board into an RPG game which would be genius (not really).

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!
I seriously doubt SE would make a fitness game lol. However, I find his comments promising. The wii board will hopefully have many more uses than just cheap fitness money grabs...though I'm sure there will be many of those as well.
Fitness and weight loss are pretty powerful sellers around the world. People spend thousands of dollars on gear, I wouldn't be surprised to see people start buying the wii just for the wii board and accompanying software.
Wii Board could be used for a DDR Aerobics game :-p
How heavy is the board btw ??? How does the board determine the height of a person for body mass index ??
I assume you stand on the board and place the remote on top of your head.
Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>
Just an idea of how the Wii board can be used in an RPG, or any fighting system for that matter.
Because it measures the pressure on the board, different pressures could result in different attacks. The amount of pressure can be translated into different speeds of attacks, different strenghts of attacks... the possibilities are endless. It can be used as a gas and brake in racing games!!!

yeah, gas and brake is an amzing possibility with the wii wheel for steering.
But seriously the wii wheel needs to have some other function other than a plastic shell.
from what i can see the wii board has only 2 sensors. maybe 2 boards side by side would make a wireless DDR board with 4 sensors.

SE has many non-game type stuff in the Japanese market, I don't think it's impossible that they make a fitness game. They hav gardening games and museum games on the DS over there...
