Forums - Sony - Bleszinski: I hate the dualshock, I love the Blue-Ray

Whats the problem with the PS3 controller? Its far better than the360 pad, those sticks are awful, as are the shoulder buttons.

(not biased at all)

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

“I hate the fucking controller,” he told VG247. “I’m sorry, I can’t stand the PS3 controller."

+1

Isn´t the PS3 controller like the PS2 one? If it is, I think it´s pretty good.

Yeah they're pretty much the same layout. Also The DS3 is a bit heavier than the old Sixaxis but has rumble, like the old PS2 controller

The biggest difference IMO between the PS2 and PS3 controller is that the annoying cords are gone, and the range is awesome.

I hate cables.

Why do they always need to curl up and twist themselves into a tangled frigging mess all the time?!?!?!?  (/mini rant)

Proud Sony Rear Admiral

I can't say that I blame the guy. I didn't like the PS1 controller. The Dualshock has been essentially unchanged for a decade. The analogs are still in the wrong place and d-pad is still shoddy. They could at least make an effort to improve the controller.

The left analog should be in a primary not secondary location. Most games use analog input as the first option now but the Dualshock continues to treat the digital pad as the primary input. Its ironic when you consider that Sony has had a pretty anti-2D stance in the the PS1's introduction.

How is the D-pad shoddy, its by far the best D-pad in the game, so i can't even imagine what you think of the other ones.

Judging from this excerpt, he prefers the xbox because of its controller...

I'm sure he has more to say than that, but because of his previously ... well... retarded statements... I don't really expect him to say anything halfway decent.

(I liked him in the video where he talked about GoW2. He should stick to things like that.)

It sounds like something a nine year old would say!

Really, there is nothing wrong with the PS3 controller once you are used to it. The Xbox controller is the second worst controller design possible (other than the wii) with its black and whit buttons. The 360 copied the R1/L1 from the PS2 controller, moved the analog sticks around and claimed it was better than any other controller on the market.

What a retard.

... was that sarcasm or stupidity?

Honestly if you think any of the contoller designs being used are the 'worst possible' you have no imagination and no knowledge of videogame history. Check out the Atari Jaguar controller.

The DS3 isn't bad but it really needs an update. Sadly the last time Sony tried to update their controller (Boomerang!) they fucked up and got their heads bitten off.

Fuck CliffyB

Anyhoo, I don't mind the PS controller one bit. I also don't mind the 360 or Wii one, or any other controller. Only controller I couldn't ever stand was the big XBOX one.

Aside from that, they're all fine.

Man, that is so true. I remember 2 occasions wjere I was pulling the controller to untangle the cable and I ended up with my PS2 on the floor. Hopefully, it didn´t break. I hated the cable, so glad it´s all wireless now. I wish they could do the same to all the cables in the back .
