Yeah they're pretty much the same layout. Also The DS3 is a bit heavier than the old Sixaxis but has rumble, like the old PS2 controller
The biggest difference IMO between the PS2 and PS3 controller is that the annoying cords are gone, and the range is awesome.
I hate cables.
Why do they always need to curl up and twist themselves into a tangled frigging mess all the time?!?!?!? (/mini rant)
