Haha I have 100Mbps connection...

My problem is that I seem to fry routers every 4 months...

Edit: I'm retarded.. its actually 100Mbps per second

That makes no sense.  You get 100 megabits per second per second?  And are you sure you are looking at your internet connection, and not your LAN connection speed?

Thats what I was thinking =P

If we are going by that measure my internal network at home is at 1 Gbps =P

Well I'm happy with my 24Mbps/1Mbps (Realisticly 18Mbps/1Mbps) 25Gb/25Gb (50Gb) connection for AUS$50.

I hardly ever max out my connection so atm 1Gb/1Gb would be a waste for me.

bro what company are you with???? i live in aus n i only get 256 / 26kbps for $70 per month

US people shouldnt complain in australia we get shit all

Supposedly my college is right smack on top of the trans-atlantic line and gets the 2nd fastest internet in the US after the Pentagon. I call bullshit since my record for downloading torrents is 9 MB/s. I've gotten between 20 mbs and 75 mbs on speedtest.com for download and never over 1.5 mbs for upload... Also according to the site, my country is 6th on upload and 7th on download speeds. US doesn't even show up in the top 10.

I'm on a 12Mbps connection although my upload speed is 256 Kbps and I get 20GB peak and 40GB off peak downloads a month for $70 Australian dollars.
I'm still clinging to hope that one day we will get faster internet at least in the major cities.

Well I'm on 100Mbps fiber optical connection here in Japan, though you don't really get the top speed. For example, I did a test at that speedtest.net website and connecting to Tokyo from my city I got dl: 27.43 Mbps(+28,000 kbps) and ul: 11.14 Mbps(+11,400 kbps), though it is really fast. I pay about US $40/month for my connection with no dl/ul limits at all. I'm in an apartment so it's cheaper, as I think a house connection costs $15 to $20 more.

The speed does drop down though when connecting to the slower connections outside of the country. I don't use KDDI though(the ISP referred to in the story), so I'm not sure when my ISP might switch over to 1Gbps connections.

Meh! I still can't even get cable or dsl yet. Hell, I'll be suprised if I get a real form of broadband by 2020 at this rate. :( *using satellite internet @ 300mb a day limit/$70 a month to avoid 28.8 dial-up*

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

Its a 100 Mbps dedicated line wired through the whole condo building... it was built from the ground up by Telus (canadian telecommunication company). The only thing is that you can only get it exclusively from Telus, can't use any other ISPs.

Anyways, I can download movies in 40 minutes

Getting 1 GB at home doesn't mean you will get anywhere near that for downloads anyway as the line coming out of the first switch outside of your building/city block isn't going to be a 100 GBs or higher one so your speed quick goes down as others people in the same area are using the net too....

Actually as long as they don't have terra+ lines for all of the network having a home connection over 100Mb is probably just a big waste.....

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

But... you're from the US? Aren't you? I would've assumed that you would have had access to atleast 512kbit connections.

Well, you learn something new every day.
