So last week I was outside smoking a butt and this guy comes up to me on his bicycle and tells me "I likes yous" and asked me if I wanted to meet with him sometime or whatever. I said no thanks. He persisted and I repeated myself. So he goes away. Later that day he comes through my line at work (I'm a grocery store cashier) and says something along the lines of "I was so drawn to you I had to come back in and through your line..." I looked down and just said "thank you and have a nice day"

At that point I was a bit creeped out and told my coworkers and then they all started telling me how he had come in about 5 other times that day. At that point they wouldn't let me leave the building without an escort. I found it kind of embarassing. I don't believe harassing me twice counts as stalking. Well today my coworker informed me that he had been staring at me through the window today for a good while... and then walked away. So now I'm starting to actually think he might be stalking me. And then someone else chimes in with something I'm assuming is unrelated but is still creepy (someone posted about me in the missed connections on craigslist... I looked it up tonight on google... it actually exists :\ ... and I don't think the one I found is even the same one she was talking about)

So I got a possible stalker, people posting about me on craigslist, I've had tons of stalkers in the past(oh if I were to tell you all of those stories it would take the whole night), I've been sexually assaulted twice, I have creepy old people bluntly ask me for sex. Whats the deal? Is this normal? Does every chick get her share of creeps? Or am I just a magnet for these people. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

While I'm no girl, a lot of my friends have complained from similar issues if they leave campus (it's in downtown Atlanta). Though I've noticed the more frank/"bitchy" friends don't get stalked. Maybe you are just not condescending/incisive enough when you tell them no?

Do you have issues with your self-esteem or self-image? A lot of times creepy men (a very nice way of saying predators) can sense such things through your body language, or the way you respond to things. I see it all the time at bars and at parties, the woman with the lowest self-esteem has all the worst men crawling all over her, some for what they think will be an easy lay, others for what they feel will be a subservient and docile woman.

Although in this case, it just seems like you have a creepy admirer... I would inform store security about him, and when you see him, ask to go on break. Eventually he will move on.

I dunno, I thought I'm pretty good at being a total bitch when it comes to trying to get the message across the first time.

I'm actually really... pugnacious usually. But in a polite kind of way.

As for being hot, I wouldn't think so. I've been told I'm cute, but if I'm so cute why is it only the creeps who hit on me :( I almost never get the decent guys. Or maybe the decent guys are more subtle and I'm just oblivious. Actually I am pretty oblivious, I've accidentally gone on dates and didn't realize it was a date until halfway through the night.

Why not take your chances with him? :P
I mean, he likes you enough to go stalk you.

Best case scenario, he turns out to be the love of your life. Worst case scenario, he rapes and murders you. Personally, I'd take that chance.

Unless he's horribly ugly as well... in which case, the risk may not be worthwhile...

I have some HIGH standards. Theres only a select few that meet them. And this guy didn't meet them, and with the whole being creepy thing he has no chance in hell now.
